10 Alcohol-Free Ways to Hang with Friends

blog-alcohol-free-friends

When we think of socializing with friends, we often think of going to a bar or a club and having a few drinks. However, Sunnyside knows, for mindful drinkers, it’s important to have alternative activities that everyone can enjoy. Here are some non-alcoholic activities you can do with your friends:

1) Go on a hike or nature walk

Nature is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Going on a hike or nature walk with your friends can be a great way to catch up and get some fresh air. You can explore new trails, take in some beautiful scenery, and even have a picnic along the way.

2) Try a new restaurant or café

If you and your friends are foodies, then trying out new restaurants or cafes can be a fun way to spend time together. You can explore different cuisines, try new dishes, and share your food with each other.

3) Have a game night

Who doesn’t love a good game night? You can play board, card, or even video games. Game nights are a great way to have some friendly competition, and you can even make it a potluck and have everyone bring their favorite snacks

4) Take a cooking class

Cooking classes are a fun way to learn new recipes and techniques while spending time with friends. You can take a class in anything from sushi-making to cake decorating. Not only will you learn something new, but you’ll also get to enjoy the delicious results.

5) Attend a concert or show

Attending a concert or show is a great way to enjoy some live entertainment with friends. Whether it’s a rock concert or a Broadway show, there’s something for everyone. You can sing along to your favorite songs or get swept away by the drama of a play.

6) Go to a sporting event

Sports fans can bond over their favorite teams by attending a game together. Whether it’s football, baseball, or soccer, there’s nothing quite like the excitement of a live game. You can cheer on your team, enjoy some snacks and drinks, and make memories with your friends.

7) Have a movie marathon

If you’re looking for a more low-key activity, a movie marathon can be a great way to relax and spend time with friends. You can choose a theme, such as comedies or horror movies, and watch your favorite films back-to-back. Don’t forget the popcorn!

8) Go to an escape room

Escape rooms are a fun way to challenge yourself and your friends. You’ll work together to solve puzzles and escape before time runs out. It’s a great way to test your problem-solving skills while having fun with friends.

9) Take a dance class

If you’re feeling adventurous, why not take a dance class with friends? You can learn anything from salsa to hip-hop, and it’s a great way to get moving and have fun. You can even take your new moves to the dance floor on your next night out.

10) Volunteer together

Volunteering together can be a rewarding way to spend time with friends while making a difference in your community. You can choose a cause that’s important to you and spend a day giving back. Not only will you feel good about helping others, but you’ll also strengthen your friendships in the process.

In addition to these activities, in social situations, you can rely on the Three C’s, Company, Conversation, and Control. You’ll find that making memories and connecting with the people who are important to you can be more satisfying than a couple more drinks. In addition, you’re in complete control of your mindful drinking journey, and reminding yourself of that can keep you focused and motivated.
