Nick and I (founders of Sunnyside) recently had the opportunity to join Molly Watts on her fast-growing podcast Breaking the Bottle Legacy. During the podcast Nick and I go in-depth talking about how our own families were impacted by alcohol and how that has provided inspiration and a unique perspective that has helped bring Sunnyside (formerly Cutback Coach) to life. We also have a conversation about the fundamental ideas that define the Sunnyside experience that you’ve come to love.
And if you want to learn more about our story and meet Molly Watts, please check it out our podcast here:
More about Molly Watts
We were connected to Molly through our partnership with Moderation Management, and she’s a member of Sunnyside. Molly is helping people create a more peaceful relationship with alcohol through her own lived experiences as an adult child of an alcoholic. Her perspectives are strongly aligned with our own views, and focus largely on science, habit-change, and modern approaches to understand alcohol in order to change its impact on our lives. From her website:
Hi, I’m Molly. I’m an author, podcaster and mentor. I’m also one of the thousands of people who grew up with an alcoholic parent.
Despite the pain alcohol had caused in my life and how it had damaged my family, I developed my own unhealthy daily drinking habit that persisted for more than thirty years. I lived with constant anxiety and the fear of becoming an alcoholic my mother, but at the same time I felt like I needed alcohol to help relieve stress.
I was stuck.
Over the past few years, I’ve learned how to master something I call the Behavior Map- Results Cycle to change my relationship with alcohol and break my daily drinking habit. I no longer worry about alcohol, no longer drink to change how I’m feeling and I don’t feel like I’m missing out or walk around with unrelenting desire to drink.
I have a peace that I truly never believed was possible.
I can help you create the same.
